Fellowship of Rotarians
Statement of purpose of the fellowship
Just like Rotary Founder Paul Harris stressed, "Fellowship is wonderful;
it illuminates life's pathway, spreads good cheer, and is worth high
price" , the Environment Fellowship of Rotarians is a group of
Rotarians, spouses of Rotarians, and Rotaractors who wish to preserve
planet earth and unite to:
- share a common interest in worthwhile recreational activities related
to their environmental iterests,
- further their vocational development through acquaintance with others
of the same profession,
- make new friends around the world,
- explore new opportunities for service, and
- have fun enhancing their experience in Rotary.
In true rotarian fellowship, they are regularly united through the best
which modern communication technology and the internet offer. They meet
on the internet, by e-mail, and very often face to face in person, locally,
regionally, as well as every year at our Rotary International Conferences
and Conventions.
Yes, the EFR members are always ready to contribute their knowledge
and expertise, and support Rotary projects locally, regionally or globally.
The Environment Fellowship of Rotarians does thus:
- offer opportunities for Rotarians to make lasting friendships outside
of one's own club, district and country,
- serve as a strong incentive for attracting new members to Rotary and
for retaining existing members, and
- contributes a lot to the advancement of world understanding and peace
in the best-possible environment.
The Environment Fellowship of Rotarians is dedicated to preserving our
planet earth as an opportunity for true rotarian fellowship. It is not
an agency of-, nor controlled by Rotary International, as it does operate
independently from it, while acting in harmony with its policy.
Board
The Board does consist of the President and at least 2 Continental Chairs
who are dedicated and capable members who shall be also responsible
for this Fellowship's membership communications and development in their
area. It so oversees its global activity, and facilitates communications
with members as well as potential members. The President communicates
regularly with Rotary International, and must be an active Rotarian.
President and the Board members are chosen for a renewable 2-year term.
Dues
This Rotary Fellowship has never had any dues, and, as long as possible,
the UNFR will have no dues. If dues will become necessary, it will be
the Board in agreement with the past presidents who will decide on this
matter and do so in consultation with the membership.
